How We Got Our Start
We felt like we needed to give MORE somehow and be more inspired ourselves. that led us to become a groundbreaking Central Valley boudoir photography team. We feel strongly about building others up, helping remind people how absolutely amazing they are, and helping people see how beautifully their outside matches their inside. Boudoir photography allows us to give back to our clients, and to ourselves. It’s a win-win situation for every single person involved in every single session.
Our love of photography started as a hobby. We eventually grew that hobby into a business where we focused on portraits of families, seniors and children, weddings and event photography. Once we studied the art of boudoir photography, we were hooked! I have learned in recent years how powerful it can be to get out of my head and into my body. I’ve observed from personal experience and from years of photographing women that we like to stay in our heads, am I right? We live in our emotions and thoughts and so rarely do we live freely within our bodies. I love that boudoir is an incredible way to get into your body.
On its surface and most popularly, boudoir is known for being photographs of women – usually in lingerie or some other sexy ensemble – to be given to someone they love as a gift. To this definition I like to say “yes, this, AND. . .” Boudoir is this. But boudoir can also be so much more, and what boudoir can ALSO be is why I am so passionate about it!
Let me explain what boudoir also is to me, and why you should do a session with me before the end of the year:
1. Boudoir makes an awesome gift. Yes, a boudoir shoot DOES make a hot gift for your person. As a wedding present, what an intimate way to say (all of the obvious jokes aside) “as we unify our lives together today I want to share my entire self with you. . .body included.” Your person loves you, loves your body and would be beyond thrilled for this gift. My favorite is when the person receiving this gift comes up to me during the reception and whispers to me “Thank you so much for helping my new spouse celebrate their body this way. . .and DANG they are HOT!”

2. Boudoir is vulnerable, bringing you closer to yourself. The one part of the boudoir experience that I wish I could bottle up is the energy women have as they leave the shoot. They’ve gotten all fancy, they’ve overcome that very first moment right before I take that first picture of them where they are like I AM SO NERVOUS HELP! They found that I walk them through the shoot from beginning to end, making sure they feel comfortable, safe and seen. I show the back of the camera along the way so they don’t leave scared that they will hate their pictures (many women have cried when they see themselves on the back of the camera – what a moment to share with them!). At the end of the shoot, there is the euphoria of having done the hard thing! You conquered your fear like a badass and looked super sexy doing it. Instead of vacating your body (like women so often do when we don’t like our bodies) for your brain or emotions, you dropped into your body and celebrated it. THIS is giving your self-care, this is having a full embodied experience, this is being brave enough to have the pictures to prove that you did a hard thing. There is power in all of this that you will carry with you.
3. Boudoir is powerful (and fun) self-care. One thing I hear back from clients all the time is how nice it is to take this time for themselves. We are the worst at taking time for ourselves like that, am I right?! A boudoir shoot gives you this moment to look for outfits that you love on your body. You get to relax in the hair and makeup chair for an hour or so, letting someone else get you ready for once. And then you essentially play dress up while I photograph you.
4. Boudoir is vulnerable, bringing you closer to your person.
Not to be too direct or obvious about it, but I have to share this steamy little story with you. The last boudoir shoot I delivered to a client was followed with a text from her telling me that she just couldn’t keep her anniversary shoot a surprise. She went home in her hair and makeup and told her husband that they needed to go on a date since she was feeling so good about herself post-boudoir shoot (it’s a thing!). Well her husband could sense this spirit of feeling refreshed, empowered and dang proud of herself that his wife was experiencing and that was super attractive to him (I am sure the hair and makeup glam helped set the mood, too). My client texted that they couldn’t wait until after their impromptu date night – they had sex then and there. These two have been married awhile, have kids together, just left a season where they struggled with their marriage and are now in a really great place. OK so not everyone is comfortable wearing lingerie. Scratch that – hardly anyone is comfortable wearing lingerie. Well, the good news is that thankfully there is way more to choose from to wear to your session than just lingerie. Boudoir sessions are about making you feel (and look) your best! Why wear things that are only going to make you feel uncomfortable?
So if you’re a comfy, casual girl like me, then you’re going to love these non-lingerie items that will work perfect, and in my opinion, even better for your session. Here are some tips to help you think outside of the box:
What celebrity do you admire? Look up photo shoots of them on Pinterest and see what they’re wearing. For example, I love Jennifer Aniston (I mean who doesn’t?!) and it’s awesome to see her rock such simple, yet sexy, items of clothing in a photo shoot. She lets the hair, makeup, and poses make the look.
What types of clothing make you feel your best? Is it a pretty sundress? A tank top and jeans? Imagine what hair and makeup with those outfits will do for you! Just shop for fun versions of those items to wear.
And in an artistic sense, what types of images are you drawn to? Are they light, airy, and romantic? Or do you like black and white and something more dramatic? Think of textures and pieces that will pair well with that look. Maybe a tulle skirt to give you that romantic feel or a leather jacket for something more edgy!
Think about what part of your body would you like to show off the most? Is it your legs? Your back? Your arms? Your shoulders? Your stomach? Think of different clothing items you can show off those parts with. Is it jean shorts? A crop top? A v-neck shirt? Anything can work!

SESSION FEE - $250
Our creation fee covers your pre-session consultation, the time and talent of your photographers and beauty team, including hair and makeup, the Pinterest mood board, editing of your chosen images and your gallery reveal appointment. Sessions last about 3 hours, and all products are purchased separately.
PRODUCTS & OPTIONS
After your session we will meet with you to help you select your final images for printing, an album or any other products you are interested in. Our albums start at $599 and we have a wide variety of product options to choose from. The typical client investment is $700-$2700, it’s completely up to you.

BOOKING
Where are you located?
We have a private Central Valley of California boudoir studio. We are also available to travel to Los Angelas and the San Francisco bay area on request. Please contact us for more details on travel for your session.
Where does the session take place?
Your session will take place in our studio in northwest Clovis near Fresno State.
How far in advance should I schedule my session?
Because your date has to be coordinated with our entire ream, including hair and makeup, we recommend you book your session six (6) weeks before the date you need your products by. This gives us ample time and avoids rush editing or shipping charges.
How much is this going to cost me?
That depends on the products you choose to display your amazing images. Our clients spend and average of $700-$2700 on their favorite products.
What if I’m not a model?
It’s okay, you don’t have to be! It’s our job to coach you and help you relax and be comfortable. We will recommend clothing and poses that best suit you. We will never ask you to do anything we wouldn’t do ourselves. As a matter of fact, you’ll see photos of us in our before and after section because even WE have had our own boudoir session.
What does my session fee include?
The fee covers the pre-session consultation, a private pinterest board for you to pin ideas you love, the boudoir photography session, professional makeup, professional hair styling, wardrobe styling assistance, and your image review session. The session fee does not cover any products.
Do you do Couples Boudoir?
Absolutely! We’d love to capture you and your partner in a couples session!
What if I’m not skinny, or perfect, or what if I’m super self-conscious?
We have prior clients from size zero, all the way up to size 26. Size is not as important as proper poses and great lighting. We will never put you in an unflattering pose and just know you ARE perfect, just the way you are. You’ll feel amazing when your session is complete.
BEFORE THE SESSION
What should I bring/wear?
We recommend items with textures such as lace, and a variety of colors as well. Think out of the box. We can bring any items we have that are your size also. Don’t forget jewelry and shoes!
What can I expect before my session?
We will set up a pre-session consultation meeting. We will go over your expectations, the products we offer, and any questions you may have.
Is using Pinterest necessary?
No, using Pinterest is not completely necessary, however, it is helpful. You can pin ideas regarding clothing options, hair, makeup, shoes, and even poses. You can create a dark and moody feel, or something light and airy. Pinterest is merely a tool to help us see your vision for your session.
What should I do before my session?
Make sure you get your nails and waxing done, and shop for any items, shoes, or jewelry you’d like to wear. If you need help shopping, let us know and we can always join you! No really, that’s what we are here for. You are more than welcome to text us outfits as well. Shave the night before to avoid redness, drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! DO NOT spray tan. Your skin will be blotchy.
THE SESSION
What can I expect the day of my session?
You can expect to be pampered, feel amazing and get a workout! Our hair and makeup team will start first. We will then go over your outfit selections and begin coaching you. We will have music playing, we will laugh, and most importantly, after your shoot is finished, we hope you leave feeling absolutely incredible!
Is the session private?
Yes! The photographers are the only people present during your session. The hair and makeup team will wrap up their stations and depart before your session begins. You may have a friend or family member accompany you, however, they cannot be present during the photography portion. NO CHILDREN are allowed in the studio.
How long do sessions last?
You can expect your session to last between three and four hours, including hair and makeup.
Will I be naked?
Well, that is your choice! Our boundaries are your boundaries. If you want to remain clothed, you just let us know!
AFTER THE SESSION
What can I expect after my session?
Approximately two to three weeks after your session, we will schedule your image review session. We will sit with you and go over your images. We will choose the ones you like and the ones you can’t live without. If you have not already pre-purchased your products, we will discuss what best meets your needs and collect the total for your products at the meeting.
What products are most popular?
The products you purchase are based on your need. Our most popular items are our 10x10 albums and our wall portraits. Some clients choose to hang their portraits over their beds, and some even hang them in their bathrooms. We will have portrait and album samples for your viewing during your pre-session consultation meeting. And remember, any products purchased with cash will receive a 5% discount!

BOUDOIR SESSION GIFT VOUCHER PURCHASE
When purchasing a boudoir session gift voucher or package you agree with the following terms and conditions:
Date and location are to be agreed with Affaire D'Amour Boudoir, and is dependent upon availability of Affaire D'Amour Boudoir photographers, as well as our professional hair and makeup team. Location must be within 20 miles of the Central Valley California areas, unless a farther location was previously discussed between the parties.
The Affaire Boudoir gift voucher will be sent by email within 5 working days after the day of purchase; in the alternative, a printed copy will be produced and can be picked up by the purchaser. It is valid within 12 months from the date of purchase. The voucher can only be exchanged at Affaire D'Amour Boudoir for photographic services and/or products described in the voucher and relating to photographs created by Affaire D'Amour Boudoir. The voucher can only be used once and cannot be exchanged for cash. Only original voucher is accepted. Damaged voucher may not be accepted. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers or offers.
BOUDOIR SESSION CREATION FEE
A non-refundable session creation fee of specified value shall be paid in order to secure the date and time for the boudoir session. The payment for additional services and products shall be paid before said products will be ordered.
IMAGE COPYRIGHT
Negatives and digital files from a photo shoot remain the property of the Photographer. For the avoidance of doubt all copyright in the images are owned absolutely by the Photographer within the provision of the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988.
DELIVERY POLICY
Gift vouchers and prints will be sent using standard first class mail services. Other products, such as frames, gift products, or photo books may be required to be collected from the photographer due to the fragile nature of the products or value of their content. In this case, collection must be made by appointment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Because Affaire D'Amour Boudoir reserves our entire work day for your sesion, and because our hair and makeup professionals also block your session time on their calendars, in the event that you do need to postpone your boudoir session, we require 7 days notice or a cancellation charge, equivalent to your session creation fee, will apply.
If you cancel or postpone your session less than 14 days in advance of the session date, your boudoir session creation fee is considered forfeited. A new date will not be scheduled until a new session creation retainer fee is paid at the rate in existent at the time of rescheduling.
Because of the customized nature of our photographic products (prints, photo books, albums, products, frames, etc) once the photographic print/product order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
RETURN AND REFUNDS POLICY
Once the photographic products have been checked, collected and signed for in person, no returns will be accepted, nor will any refunds be issued by Affaire D'Amour Boudoir.
In case of delivery of photographic products to the client by U.S. Mail, any complaints regarding an issue with the photographic products such as manufacturer’s fault/defect, shall be sent to Affaire D'Amour Boudoir , in writing, within 7 days of receipt of the products, along with the faulty products. Affaire D'Amour Boudoir will inspect the products for the default and, if in agreement with said default, will rectify the problem and endeavor to supply the replacement photographic product to the client as soon as possible. After the 7 day period no returns on photographic products will be accepted and no refunds will be made by Affaire D'Amour Boudoir.
CLIENT CONCERNS
Please address any complaints to Affaire D'Amour Boudoir by email to the address listed below. We make every attempt to respond to any complaint within one working day. Please refrain from disparaging Affaire D'Amour Boudoir in any fashion. We will do our best to address your complaint/concern.
For purposes of this Section, “disparage” shall mean any negative statements, reviews, comments or feedback, whether written or oral, about Photographer or services provided by Photographer Affaire D'Amour Boudoir.
Client agrees that they will not disparage Affaire D'Amour Boudoir, or post any negative statements, reviews, comments or feedback about Affaire D'Amour Boudoir to any third party whether orally or in any written publication or online forum, chat room, or message board, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Yelp.
Parties agree that it would be impracticable and extremely difficult to ascertain the amount of actual damages caused by a failure to comply with this provision. Parties agree that in the event it is established that Client has failed to comply with this provision, liquidated damages determined by legal counsel shall be payable to Affaire D'Amour Boudoir.
